if it makes sound but not by a "powered" means it is acoustic.

Yes,as long as it doesn't use electricity to synthicize the notes.If it is wood with strings that vibrate;it is acoustic.

It depends. Grand pianos are, but electric pianos are not.

Technically speaking, a piano is a percussion instrument. So I would go with a yes based on that, along with the fact that a piano doesn't need electricity to produce tones.
