Is a Piano Considered an Acoustic Instrument?
December 23rd, 2009 | by admin |I don’t believe a piano can be electric.. An electronic piano would defy the properties of a a piano and is a different instrument completely.
But my question is now answered, thank you. :]]
even more technically, it is considered a chordophone.

and if its electric as everyone has already stated, it is only emulated.
if it makes sound but not by a “powered” means it is acoustic.

Technically speaking, a piano is a percussion instrument.
So I would go with a yes based on that, along with the fact that a piano doesn’t need electricity to produce tones.

It depends. Grand pianos are, but electric pianos are not.

Yes,as long as it doesn’t use electricity to synthicize the notes. If it is wood with strings that vibrate;it is acoustic.
