Is a Piano Considered an Acoustic Instrument?

December 23rd, 2009 | by admin |

I don’t believe a piano can be electric.. An electronic piano would defy the properties of a a piano and is a different instrument completely.
But my question is now answered, thank you. :]]

even more technically, it is considered a chordophone.

and if its electric as everyone has already stated, it is only emulated.

if it makes sound but not by a “powered” means it is acoustic.

Technically speaking, a piano is a percussion instrument.

So I would go with a yes based on that, along with the fact that a piano doesn’t need electricity to produce tones.

It depends. Grand pianos are, but electric pianos are not.

A piano is. An electric keyboard is not.

Yes,as long as it doesn’t use electricity to synthicize the notes. If it is wood with strings that vibrate;it is acoustic.
